About us
The HellasQCI project, in conjunction with the EuroQCI initiative, aims to develop the National Network of Quantum Communication Infrastructure to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructures in Greece against cyber threats. Three (3) metropolitan communication networks with Quantum Communication Devices (QKD), terrestrial optical fibre and satellite technologies will be implemented together with pilot use cases and training activities for all users. The project will deliver a state-of-the-art communication infrastructure with secure public digital services, new opportunities for Research and new business opportunities for Industry.

Meet the partners of #HellasQCI! 🚀 Introducing the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), founded in 1842 and supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation. #NOA plays a pivotal role in cutting-edge research across Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Applications. 💡 NOA’s largest institute, the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Remote Sensing, and Space Applications (IAASARS), generates over €3M annually, through groundbreaking research funded by ESA, the EU, and other national initiatives. 🔭 The IAASARS team operates the Helmos and Kryoneri Observatories, home to the 2.3m “Aristarchos” telescope — the second largest in continental Europe. Helmos Observatory also serves as an Optical Ground Station (OGS) for advanced space telecommunications and quantum communication experiments. NOA leads T4.5 (Use Cases Using Space Segment) in HellasQCI and collaborates with #AUTH and #FORTH OGS to push quantum research boundaries.
